Spyderco Gayle Bradley question

I've got one and love it. It's part of my office/work carry rotation.

It's very dainty though. I'd like a beefy Bradley folder with a sub 3" blade because that's the biggest I can carry.

You need a Techno.

I've never had a problem with the non-stainless nature of CPM-M4, and it's even less of a worry after a forced patina. As for the decision to carry it low, it really hasn't been an issue with regards to the weight. I have ZTs that are heavier and I've had no problems using them with deep-carry clips.

I've left the blade on my Air to slowly develop a patina on its own though, since it's only carried during days spent inside the office.

Not all Ti clips have the retention that a steel one does. They tend to be a little more flexible. I love STR's clip on my Southard, but it does not hold the knife as well as the stock clip, and most stock clips. Still worth it though imo.

I hear ya, when I bend my clips, I heat them the whole way through after I have the desired fold. They are pretty stiff.

I like the blade on GB,(looks stonewashed) and scales on Air.How did you force patina?

So-Lo did the patina by acid-etching and stonewashing the blade. I had him make the scales, so we went ahead and decided to do the blade treatment also. He did the same thing for my Military 2 years ago when I transplanted a CPM-M4 blade into a Ti framelock and it's held up very well.

Thanks ,he did a great job.

Is he on this forum? I can't find the username.

I doubt you'll see a sprint run version of the Gayle bradley. It was already a collab, and M4 steel was already a highlight of the knife, and also serves as Gayle's quasi-trademark. Don't hold your breath.

Mines being delivered to Florida now. I should have it down here in a couple of weeks! I'm excited. I have a feeling I'm really going to like this knife!

I'd love one with ti liners and micarta scales. Tried one from the first run and it was just too heavy when compared to my CF Millies to make me get one.

I plan on drilling out more of the steel on the liners to make it lighter, as soon as I can get to the drill press in our garage. Maybe replacing one side with Ti.
