What is the most sought after spyderco knife from a collectors stand point?
I'm just beginning to familiarize myself with lesser known older knife models.

Paramilitary 2 now, because they are hard to get. Next might be the Southard. You could also work on getting all the different color delicas, or pick away at the Sage's IMHO. I guess it comes down to you want..

I like the sage 1 and 2, the chaparral in cf and ti, the manix 2, and the native ffg... (all in either S30V or S35VN) but they are all too expensive.

I am reluctant to buy an expensive knife that I can't comfortably edc without being afraid of losing it or damaging it or having it stolen.

I'm also afraid that the knife will fail in heavy use because of the weak point at the spyderhole.

I was afraid of that. I had a near mint calypso jr. with black linen micarta and a plain edge AUS8 blade. I recently traded it on the exchange though. Any thoughts on the C22 Walker/Spyderco collaboration?

I'm fairly certain you don't have to worry about the spydie hole

I think it would be that pretty blue Para 2
Not that I own one :(

I would say... the carbon fiber Military sprints. I think they came in S90V and M390. Perfection, if you like larger knives.
I don't know much about the ultra rare Spyderco knives.

I once had a cf/m390 military. I very much regret getting rid of it now.

The CF military also came in BG-42 and S30V

For me, it is any Military, with the exception of the Titanium variations which to me, stray a little to far from the original Military ethic. My ultimate Military may well be the Cru-Wear version due this fall.

And the S30V is the lightest of them all even though it has a slightly thicker blade :D (The non lock side is linerless)

A ATS-34 C22 CF is pretty sought after...

For me it was the Ti Lum Tanto. I looked for one that didn't cost an arm and a leg for a long time unsuccessfully. I was just able to trade for one last week due to the scarcity of PM2's.

I see alot of PM2 knives being mentioned. Are they really that hard to find? I assume if given the chance I should pick one up then... What about the original paramilitary?

It seems like I obsess over the next Spyderco that I want... And eventually get.

For me it was the CF S90V Para-2. I eventually bought one (paid too much for it on the secondary market, but am perfectly happy with my purchase).
