Spyderco Gunting - Legal in NYC ?

In what way is a Gunting a "kinetic" knife and what in Hell is a "kinetic" knife anyhow? The Gunting can be opened by striking its horn against your opponent's arm or leg, but it will most likely slice that arm or leg in the doing of that, so it is not just an opening. It is also an attack. Bram does NOT recommend that you open it that way on your own body and there were any number of people who went to the ER for stitches as a result of trying to do so. The opening that is not an attack is a standard Spyderco opening using the Spyderhole.
BTW, keep the pivot fairly snug or you will find that the horn will "Wave" the blade open in your pocket. I had more than one pocket sliced that way but without injury to me, fortunately.
