The only problem is when you show them to friends and coworkers and they laugh at you. But who cares what they think. It's a great knife. (I own several Taiwanees knives).
Exactly. It's very tough to argue when there's so many US-made knives at the same (or lower) price point. While the Taiwanese knives may be better, the casual observer may not recognize the better qualities of one knife vs another.

This happens to you? Hmm, leaves a lot to be desired as far as friends are concerned (IMO).
There was a time when people laughed off Toyotas and Hyundai cars, nowadays not so much.![]()
As well as Ti Fluted Military. Both knives are excellent. All made in Taiwan. But the Native 5 Fluted Titanium is higher end and made in Golden CO.
I strongly disagree with this.Every serious Spydie fan I know will tell you that in some ways, Spyderco's Taichung knives surpass their Golden, CO knives in fit and finish. Is what it is.

This. I showed a coworker my Sage 1 and he asked how much I paid for it, I said $120 ( purchased 4 years ago ).
He laughed, pointed to Taiwan, pulled out his Gerber Ultralight and said "Made in USA, $10, you got ripped off".
lol
It is hard to explain to people who don't care about materials and worksmanship.
Both that and ignorance are hard to get around....
Im sure most of them don't even know where Taiwan is.
Is it just me or do some folks only know enough to judge a knife solely based on the U.S.A. stamped in the blade?
