hey how are yah

I wanted to ask you if their is any place that i could check out the spyderco models and how many were released for productions from the past. Also why do some knives get discontinued is it because of them not selling or spyderco just wants to make limited numbers. appreciate your help

The Spyderco Story is an excellent book, and well worth the price for Spyderco buffs, but it only covers about up to the mid-90s.

Ted's website is the most comprehensive list of Spyderco models, past, present, and soon to be released. He also has all the older Spyderco catalogs available for download in PDF format.

If you are interested in the many variants of the C35 "Q", Spyderwa's site provides the most comprehensive (although not 100% complete) listing of them and Boxer's site provides excellent photos of many of the rarer ones.

Aside from the above-mentioned "Q", and the recent Sprint runs, there were only a few Spyderco models where production was intentionally limited. The ones that come to mind are the C27 Jess Horn, Evolution Set, 20th Anniversary Worker, 25th Anniversary Delica, WTC Knife, the Carbon Fiber versions of the Police, Civilian, and Delica, and each of the versions of the Kopa (seven to date, three scheduled for next year) - but I may have missed a couple. Except for those, and the SpydeWrench and Titanium ATR which were discontinued due to production difficulties, the reason for retirement has been low sales volume.
