So I've been wondering what all the hype is about the Spyderco brand of folders. I decided to finally check them out and got a Perrin PPT and a Navaja which arrived last week. I must say I finally see what all the admiration and hype is about. Theses are some really well crafted knives. I'm so impressed that I just ordered two more for my collection. The Manix 2 in G-10 and a Military. NICE

Glad you found out why they are well respected.

Always been a fan of how well made they were. I'm lucky enough to live close to them, so it's about 1.5 hour drive to the warehouse sale *yay*

I am jealous of you sir.

You've really got to handle a Spyderco to understand how efficient they are.

MDQBox, you've picked some good ones to start out with, including those you have on the way. There are a different levels of Spyderco, with the ones you've picked being in the mid-top tiers. All Spydercos are top in their price range. For some extremely high quality, you can spend up to $200 (Titanium Military, Tuff, Valloton), and again, those knives will be top in that range. For the mid-lower end, Delica and Endura kick butt, as well, and then you can go down to things like the Persistence and Tenacious, or even the little bugs.

No matter your price range, Spyderco will satisfy.

PPT been on my want list for a while now, pics?

Yes, they make a great knife for the price. Sal, and the whole Spyderco crew is a class act. The owner doesn't mean much to some, but I always try to buy from a company that makes a good product, and is run by good people.

Once you've experienced the Spydie-hole, there's no going back.

Sal & company are another important reason to respect Spyderco.

There is no nicer guy on Bladeforums than Mr. Sal, and its awesome to be able to PM the Big Cheese and get an honest and timely response. Were I to do it over on Bladeforums, I would try to be as nice as Mr. Sal - though I blew that one a long time ago. :)

My first Emerson and only Bench made have thumbholes, it's hard to break the habit.

I've pretty much stayed withing the "big 3" since getting into knives - Kershaw/ZT, Benchmade and Spyderco. In the past, Kershaw and especially ZT have been my favorites. I have/had several Kershaws and ZT's and a few Benchmades and love(d) them. As far as Spydercos, I have/had the Native, Delica, Endura and Tenacious. I have sold or given away the Delica, Native and Endura and kept the Tenacious. It wasn't until I bough the Endura 4 G10 that I really saw the level of quality that Spyderco had to offer. After that, I bought the Paramilitary 2 and this has sprung Spyderco into the favorite spot past even ZT. The Para 2 totally surprised me on how awesome a production knife that can be made. I have since bough the Sage 1 CF and a Dragonfly 2 and have several more models in my sights like the Native 5, Delica FFG, Military, Salt 1 Full Serration and Perrin PPT. So for now, it is safe to saw that Spyderco is my "go to" brand.

Sadly though, I lost my Para 2 a couple weeks ago and have searched far and wide for it. I WILL be getting another Para 2 as soon as more stock comes in. This is my benchmark folding knife. The knife all others will be judged against.

I traded for a Navaja a few months ago, and I love that design. As unusual & funky as it is, for some reason it really struck a chord with me. I normally don't go for radical designs like that.

I know what you mean with the less conventional design - when I finally got it in my hand I really took to it. It has an awesome feel, fit and finish. One of my favorites to fondle and admire.

All the Spyderco knives I've owned are really well made. Just lost a Ladybug FRN the other day. I neglected to clip it back onto my keys and it fell out of my backpack somewhere, figures. I was furious so I replaced it with a stainless Ladybug and a Native 5. Really looking forward to my Native 5 arriving on Saturday. I love my Sage 3 carbon fiber and I think the Native has similar proportions but is a bit thicker, has S35VN, and is lockback, which I really enjoy for stability.

Out of all the Spyderco products I think my favorite is the Pacific Salt, and the other H-1 knives. Really great stuff. I have been looking everywhere for an Aqua Salt with a black handle but they are discontinued :grumpy: If I were rich I'd buy the Spyderco Warrior, looks like one hell of a knife.

I have four currently, and all of them are fantastic! Even the little ones I wasnt expecting much out of. The bug stayed on my keychain for years, and the ladybug is always close by!

Sage 2 in my back pocket today and GEC #85 ez open jack in the front pocket. I need to think about selling some folders because my Sage 2 and Gayle Bradley get the most pocket time.
