I wish Spyderco would come out with a mini manix or manix with a flipper stud on the back like CRKT or the Kershaw Lahar. Who is with me on this one???

The only way to make a backlock /frontlock knife with flipper I know is the patented Pass-Through Lockbar that SOG is using in the Twitch series. If you want a flipper you need to change the locktype of the Manix /Mini Manix. This would modify the charakter of the knives too much for my taste.

A Spyder without the hole just isn't Spyderco. It sort of defeats the purpose, don't ya think?

Eric has a design that uses a "Kit Carson Flipper" called the "Domino". It uses a Walker Linerlock.

I have exactly one knife that had a Carson flipper. Note the operative word there, "had". I don't care for them myself, but whatever floats your boat.

I wasn't saying to take away the hole from the knife but just add a flipper. I love spyderco's but I like the option of a flipper if possible. I actually like the spyder hole. Anyway thanks for the replies. I know this will probably never come to production but I thought it might be a pretty cool feature. I never realized they would have to change the whole design of the knife though.
