Spyderco in aus6?

Yep, the stainless delica 3s were in AUS6. They have been discontinued, and the new Delica 4 stainless modells are VG10

The VG-10 is significantly better, too, let me say.

Does Spyderco still use AUS-6? The last thing I remember seeing AUS-6 on was an older Ladybug.

I disagree with the first sentence. For the records: Stainless Steel Delicas with AUS-6 are/were Delica 2 and nothing else. Hope I don't shock you ;)

I've got an older Endura with the plastic clip that is AUS-8. Do you happen to know which Endura model that was ?

It's what would now be referred to as an Endura 1. Within that, I believe there are first and second generation versions, based on the width of the plastic clip and AUS-8 may have been used on one or both of them. It was, I believe, an alternative steel, used on several models when GIN-1 was not available.

There were 2 Spyderco fixed blades made with AUS-6. The Vagabond and the SPOT models. Now the Micarta SPOT was made with VG-10. If I also remember correctly I think that there were a few of those really small Spyderco models made with AUS-6 as well. I'm almost sure enough to place a bet that there was a Ladybug and a Jester model that were both made with AUS-6. It's been years since I've had either one of those models but I'm fairly certain of it.

Also there seems like there was one other folder that Spyderco made with AUS-6 but I would have to dig into my catalogs to find it.

JD, you would win that bet. I believe that Joyce, Sal, or Kristi once posted that all the Jesters, including the Micarta version, were AUS-6 as were all the original Ladybug I's and II's with the sole exception of the CF Ladybug I, which was ATS-55. Think it was Joyce, but could be wrong on that.

Hey Deacon wasn't that credit card type knife that Spyderco made an AUS-6 blade? I think they used to call that blade the "Spydercard". I haven't even seen one of those in over 2 years but I seem to remember that it had an AUS-6 blade as well. Also I just pulled up one of my old dealer sheets and I've got the Endura II with the stainless handle listed as having AUS-6 as well.

But you and I both know that not all of those catalog lisitings are accurate either :( It also seems like at one time there was either a stainless handled Dragonfly and/or CoPilot made with AUS-6. For what ever reason they seemed to like to use that steel on stainless handled Spyders. I'll do some digging in the meantime. JD

Yes JD, the Spydercard was another model that came in AUS-6. I had to get a catalog out to be sure, as the typeface they used on the knife itself made it damn near impossible for my old eyes to be sure whether the digit was a 6 or an 8. And, just like the Delica II which the OP inquired about, the Endura II was also AUS-6. Would not be surprised if there were others as well.

i have a meerkat se made with aus-6

Yeah I forgot all about that Meerkat. Now there was a Golden Colorado made Meerkat and it had 440C blade steel. Last night I was going through some older Spyderco catalogs and I seen that some of the Spyderco trainers were also made with AUS-6. It could be the start of a collectible trend being that there were so few Spyders made with that steel
