Just got the magazine when I got home last Friday. They give a write up for both the Atlantic and Pacific Salt and the Caspian II in the issue and 2 Caspian II as the prizes for the best letter of the month.

Very cool to see Spyderco getting some props in a "non-knife" publication. Congratulations.

Its funny, I really want to get the Caspian as a dive knife, but can't bring myself to buy one when I have a great beta Ti fixed blade dive knife already. Never stops me from buying regular knives, lol.

Anyhow, thought you all might enjoy.

That's good to hear. I love my H-1 Pacific Salt. Great knife and still no rust spots. It's my fishing knife and the one that I clip on my shorts when I go to the beach. Still holding up after about a good year or so of owning it. I'm glad that these knives made it in a magazine, seems that not too many people outside of the knife community know anything about H-1 or it's actual "stainless" capabilities.

That's cool. I just ordered the Pacific Salt and Salt 1 knives from KnivesPlus. In Feb we were in some shark waters in Maui and, after losing a titanium folding dive knife, I pressed my Al Mar Eagle into service for one dive. Bad idea. Big rust spots started developing within one hour. Managed to get them off with thorough rinse and RemOiling. Anywho time to finally get these Salts that have been on my to-get list for years. I have some fixed dive knives but I like the folders for their portability, even when boogey boarding or snorkeling.

You'll be very pleased with the Pacific Salt, I have the black handled one and it works great . It's gone to the beach with me for over a year now (I live in the gulf Coast) and several fishing trips. Absolutely NO Rust spots, stains, on the blade or the rivets. The clip is extra sturdy as well. You can easily clip it to your shorts and not worry about it falling off.

I have the Pacific Salt. While I do not use it for SCUBA (IMO, too hard to open with my gear on) I do use it any other time I am around water. It just doesn't rust and takes a good edge that actually lasts, compared to most Ti, at a fraction of the cost of more exotic materials like Ti, Stellite, Talonite, etc.

I just joined the Salt club: got two of each of the Salt 1 and Salt 2 and I love them. They're like the Delica and Endura 3s (they non-steel lined versions that I so like better than the 4s), wonderfully lightweight and fast but with more useful blade shapes. The blades could serve in self-defense against bad critters no doubt but have the swept down tip that allows for rescue cutting as well. I love these knives and foresee them serving well in all in and out of water applications (like snorkeling and river running). Thanks guys.
