Hi everyone,
I have been searching for a deal on Spyderco knives and have come across a place called Steele Arms who is going out of business. They are selling Endura, Delica, Delica II, Catcherman, Dragonfly, and Rescue Jr. I was wondering if any of these old versions would be worth getting over the newer versions that would have "better" blades (I don't know the differences between ATS-55; Delica & VG-10; Delica 4). Also, are these people reputable? They have Cold Steel, Columbia River, and Ontario too...

Thanks for your time.

Welcome to Bladeforums! :)

The best place for this kind of question is The Good, The Bad, The Ugly!, our forum for evaluating people and places to deal with. A search there didn't bring up Steele Arms. They may not have been big enough for many of us to have found them.

Remember that buying from a business going out of business leaves you little recourse if you aren't happy with your purchase.

I've only seen the Delica/Endura 4s online, but as good as the old Delicas *felt*, I think think the 4th gens look MUCH better. Delica/Endura always looked extremely cheap, even if I respect the kninfe...the 4th gen isn't going to confuse anyone with carbon fiber or MOP, but I still think it looks a lot better.

Looks are in the eye of the beholder. Spyderco always looks ... different. Some of us like them, others are less impressed. Until they try one! :d

Sounds like a good deal, though. If they are a dealer, that's a good sign.

I'm hoping this is legit. I ordered two Delicas and two Rescue Juniors. These prices are almost too good to be true. If I had to guess I'd say they're distributor cost, if not slightly lower.

Has anyone gotten their shipments yet?

(((( fingers crossed ))))

Okay folks, this appears to be legit... The UPS man just dropped off my package from Steele Arms. I'm impressed! I wish I'd ordered more while they still had stock left.

The Delicas are white boxed new/old stock circa 2000. They feature ATS-55 bladesteel and have the deeper clip well to prevent the clip from "turning". The Rescue Juniors are from different time periods but both have ATS-55 bladesteel. The black one doesn't have the deep clip well while the orange one does. Shipping on these jewels was a little high but the bargain basement price more than made up for it. As a Spyderco collector I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

Thanks much for the headzup! :D

Mine came just as described and very promptly. Shipping was a little high but it was still a good deal. I am very pleased.

Crap! School was long all week and now the Spyderco section is "not found"/ cannot be displayed. C'est la vie. At least I was able to let you all know what I found... I'll just keep my eyes open while I save up.
