Spyderco is So Unique

"I got a Cold Steel, bro! Keep walkin!

That cracks me up! I always have to chuckle when I hear someone mention them. I really enjoyed your post, I have friends that will say "Oh you like knives!" and then I cringe knowing they are going to pull out a dull brick.
Nice tip of the hat to Sal and his team. They truly deserve the praise, I'm shocked that he keeps an ear open to us on such a personal level. There is no wonder why they are so successful. Brilliant!

Hello Sal
Wow, Wasn't expecting that. I haven't said anything everyone here hasn't already echoed but great to hear directly from you.
I plan on taking any little road trip in search of hidden gems and historic sites at the end of this month, although I don't have all of the stops planned out yet Golden Colorado is on the list.

Thanks for listening.

The thing that I love about the Spyderco knives is everything about the design seems to have a purpose that makes them work so well.

Has Spyderco created a niche or has the rest of the industry just decided not to design knives for the purpose? It feels like Spyderco decided the correct path and everyone else is just allowing them to take that path alone.

I would agree, not only is the company itself unique but their product lineup as well. When you can get such diversity from one company what's the need to have others.

Hi CryoGuy,

The industry needs to have multiple companies all competing. This promotes improvement. Besides, being the only car on the race-track is boring.

Yes sir you are right. I've just become so spoiled by my Spydies that others just don't feel right. Thanks for an outstanding product!

I suspect I'm a bit different from the majority here . I only own two Spyderco's and it appears that many here have more Spyderco's than I've had hot dinners :)
Just before Christmas I bought a Resilience because I was going away on holiday to New Zealand and needed a big folder to handle camping chores . The Resilience was a cheap option and ticked all the boxes that were on my requirement list .
It took about three days before I realised that if the Resilience was a budget Spyderco , then the higher end ones must be outstanding , it really impressed me .
When I got home from holiday my new favourite knife was to big for normal life back in civilisation .
I researched until I was nearly cross eyed and decided that a Delica was required .
I don't buy lots of knives , so my working knife has to fill many roles and be carried and fit in everywhere I go , from Weddings and Funerals to the dirtiest toughest tasks that my working days throws at me .
Because I have a buy once attitude Im afraid you won't get rich from me Sal :)
But your Delica Titanium Damascus has made my world a happy place .
I have no plans to but another Spyderco , but then I have no need to buy any other knife either .
You got it right with the Delica
