Well, I got it today and she is definitely a very good knife... love the ergo's.
Guess I irritated the seller by requesting that they try to send me one without the machining errors.
I got the errors, though they obviously don't affect the performance.
The knife, along with another that I ordered, were mashed into the boxes in a way that almost looked deliberate. The other knife I ordered was definitely taken out and put back in improperly... mashed in.
I've lived in enough other places in the country to know that tons and tons of people don't like California or its residents - maybe I got a serving of 'screw the Californian'.
Funny, a couple of companies were excellent about getting things out immediately (and packaged well) when I lived in Colorado, Idaho, Utah, Nevada, Texas, Washington, Oregon and Kansas, but they wait till the last second to send 'em to me here in Cali.
The postmark and way the stuff is packaged suggests something.
God knows I've had more quality issues with products sent by mail here in California than when I lived elsewhere in the country.
Whatever... guess I'll give my business to whomever treats me right.
Either way this JD Smith is a very impressive knife, indeed.
Glad I got it.
