Spyderco Khukri?

I just got my Khurki today and so far, I really like it. It is an excellent slicer. I wouldn't use it for chopping, but then again, I can't think of a folder that I would use as a chopper. I am a fan of Ed Schempp's work and I enjoy his designs for Spyderco.

I think the point I am trying to make is that it is possible to make a folder you can chop with, which is what the CS Rajah is, and can do. Demko's lock is that tough.

I think it's cool that Spyderco comes out with interesting designs like this one. That said, I don't like it and I can't imagine it will be very popular.

So, in essence, the CS and Spyderco Kukris are aimed at two different markets. Folks looking for a reasonable size pocketknife will prefer the Spdyerco version, those who want a folding knife with a 6" blade will prefer the CS. Those who want both will buy both. Sounds like a win-win situation.

That lock is interesting, but it does seem better adapted to huge folders lke the Rajah than to anything of a more practical size. Personally, no matter how strong the lock, I'll stick with a fixed blade for any task that demands more than a 4" blade. As for chopping, I'll take a hatchet over even a fixed blade knife.
