This is by far the nicest looking koppo/kubotan i've found so far, but i can only find it on this japanese site without a way to order it, does anyone know where I can find one? Can't find anything on spyderco's site or google, thanks.

man now every other model I see just sucks compared to this, gotta have it! (Hard to find models in koppo or kubotan that have one flat side and one pointed side, where the pointed side isn't going to kill someone)

I've seen all the prototypes and concept models from Spyderco over the past few years, even at Spydie's HQ, but I've never seen or heard anything about a Koppo. Sometimes the Japanese makers offer up a prototype to Spyderco of a design they made themselves. Perhaps this is such an animal that found its way to the market? There have been Japan-only variants of spydies in the past but never completely new models. And the production number, TC4, would imply that there were 3other models in the works?

If this is some new project I'd be very surprised about it. It looks nice but seems a bit out of tune with other spyderco products. Until any of the spydercrew chimes in on this, I'm skeptical to say the least.

I'm pretty much with your Wouter, although I vaguely remember (perhaps incorrectly) some "Japan Market" Spydiebug auto seats or seat covers that were licensed.

The TC4 designation does seem to be shared by at least two other items, a non-Spyderco marked Kubotan and a small prybar, so I'm not sure it's a model number. Unfortunately, there's no English language version of that site, and using the Rikaichan plug in for Firefox on it confused me far more than it enlightened me.

Definitely need a  or :thumbdn: from Sal, Joyce, or Kristi on this.

I'm with Wouter.

I've not seen the model, but I will look into it. Thanx for the input.

I just did a search for this, and then used the Google translation. The Koppo is textured titanium. It's not Japanese, but Chinese (www.koppo.cn) with prices in Yuan. The People's Republic of China has a reputation of not paying much attention to copyright or patents, so I wish Sal luck trying to get anything resolved.
