This Spyderco Sprint Run Ladybug3 is made with Aogami Super Blue steel. Aogami Super Blue is produced exclusively by Hitachi Metals at their plant in Japan. They use high quality iron-sand found only there to create different grades of white and blue steels. The steel itself isn’t blue or white in color; instead the designation refers to the color of paper the raw steel comes wrapped in when delivered to Hitachi.

The Ladybug is one of Spyderco’s smallest lightweight knives. It has an uncanny amount of usable cutting power and utility for a knife of its size and it's a blast to use. The fiberglass reinforced nylon (FRN) handle is optimally textured and outfitted with the back lock mechanism for confidence inspiring lockup. The handle has a hole for a key ring or lanyard. When closed the Ladybug is about the same size as your car keys, which makes it an ideal key-chain carry knife that won't weigh you down.

Its a pre-order although you would not know that from the 'out of stock' message. I spoke with them today and they have not yet received their shipment. The Spyderco Store had them as of 2 days ago and I believe the official release of the knife was yesterday so I'll let you all know if my pre-order does not happen. In speaking with them today they had no indication that they would NOT be able to fulfill the order so I went ahead and pre-ordered one.
Did I just use a double-negative there??? Sorry!!

Good to hear, I'm looking forward to it. Question...being you probably have a good idea of the number of pre-orders you have left to fulfill, do you have any indication that you will receive enough to take care of at least those that have orders still outstanding? I realize that is probably a difficult question to answer confidently (the nature of supply chain being what it is), I'm only asking cause there are a few others floating around out there and I don't want to miss my chance of getting a good enough deal waiting for your better deal if I'm like 9 millionth in the queue and you get 400 in at a time ya know?
But thanks for the info...I appreciate it that you keep us informed!! Great price on this too...
