I just wanted to get your guys opinion on it i am thinking about picking one up for myself as in my state where i live the blade must be 3 inches or under so this leafstorm looks like a very good edc knife and good knife overall good materials but i just wanted to see what the people that have owned it or own think about thanks Mike.

I really like the Leafstorm. It's small enough to fit into the watch pocket of your jeans, it has excellent materials, and the lock works really well.

yea thats what i always heard and the materials that spyderco is using seem to be top notch with the s30v and titanium how does that g10 feel compared to some of spydercos other knifes with g10

i own one! built very well! it is on the small side, i prefer larger knives. If you really want one id prob give you a good deal on mine. its like new, carried a few times.

yes i would like to see one also just to see a comparison please and what size hands do you have because i have i would say large hands but the knife handle on the leafstorm seems to be big enough

The G10 is mildly grippy, nothing too aggressive in any manner. It does provide enough pucfhase along with the jimping on the spine to have a terrific and sure grip. This little knife is a definite winner.

in hand pic? please :)
Sorry, I don't have one right off hand. But I found a nice one of the Leafstorm custom, NOT MY PIC:

The G10 is not as grippy as what comes on the Para or Millie, but it is not really smooth like what some other knife brands have. I had to tune mine to get rid of some side to side blade play when I got it (reamed out one of the washers so that it would go over the thicker portion of the pivot pin where the blade sits). Now it works how I want it. For size comparison, maybe this will help:

When I look at the leaf storm I think to myself that I would slice my finger clean off with that thing (due to the lack of a properly placed finger choil).. It's a really cool looking knife but for a practical sub three inch edc I would go with a g10 dragon fly... I love my g10 dragon fly, it is fantastic. Sure it's not a titanium frame lock but the back lock on the dragon fly is more than adequate and the blade shape is perfect.

there is a current post on the spyderco site where many are complaining about getting cut by them. I passed on this one. Russ

yea that is what i have been hearing just because the leafstorm doesnt have the spyderco choil has many of there smaller knives do but i think if you get used to it i dont think it would be a problem

I had initially had the same concerns, but as with many Spyderco knives there are a couple different ways to grip the knife. One may hold it close to the blade, where the lack of a choil may be a concern, but it provides a nice grip for delicate work. Alternatively, one can hold the knife behind the last section of the handle, using the cut out for the lock as a guard, which allows for more difficult/forceful cutting. It is a versatile little knife.

Cool little knife -- but just a bit too small for my tastes. There is a 3" limit in my state too, and I carry a Sage (3.00") or a small Sebenza (2.95").

yea i have been looking at the sage series and also thought about getting a small seb but its alot of money to drop on one knife while i could basically get the sage 1 and 2 for less then the small seb

The Caly3 is a great knife and probably a better overall EDC knife. I do love my Leafstorm though, I appreciate the workmanship and different (for spidie) design. It took some getting used to as far as how to hold the knife for different tasks. Once you realize this and use the blade as it was intended to be used I think you will really enjoy owning one. I love the thickness of the little blade.
