spyderco leafstorm

I got a Leafstorm from the Factory Sale for $50. The only thing wrong with it is the G11 was a bit worn. It's beautiful and amazingly stout. An indestructible small knife that is sure to be a conversation piece. As for ergonomics, they're not traditional, but they do work. Overall, I'm impressed with the knife. It's cool, classy, and beefy all in one.

And yes I'm carrying it right now!

Leafstorm is little big knife and looks really classy. For that price, you had excellent deal! IMHO, Spyderco should make Carbon Fibre version too.

I have a leafstorm and I have a Kopa that I prefer. It has a much better feel to it than the leafstorm.

yea i have been looking at the sage series and also thought about getting a small seb but its alot of money to drop on one knife while i could basically get the sage 1 and 2 for less then the small seb

Sound logic, for certain. But I can tell you, I have both Sages, and my Sebs get carried more. The Sages come in a close second in my rotation because they are just so damn fun to open, close, and handle in general (especially the Sage 1). But the Sebbie is more solid. I know I'm comparing apples and oranges, but they are still my top two EDC's right now.

yea i understand i have always thought about picking up a sebenza but i just cant get myself to pull the trigger for $300+ to me right now i just dont see myself as using a knife that expensive i would rather just buy both sages because i know i would use them and not care as much as i would for a $300 knife

I've been carrying my Leafstorm for a little over a year now. Love it! Where I work they frown on knives of any kind but especially 3inch and over. The Leafstorm is smaller and less "scary" when I pull it out for use. I usually carry a Native but the Leafstorm is more "sheeple" friendly at work and has done everything I needed it to do so far...and I haven't cut myself with it either:D

As a side note, I carried a Unique Graphic Sebenza for several months and one day I reached down to pull it out of my pocket and it was gone! Fell out some where and talk about being devastated?
When you lose a $450 pocketknife you think twice about carrying one as an EDC. Person who found it probably didn't/doesn't know what they found. I quit carrying the expensive stuff after that.

My main issue with it and why I never got one was that the Caly 3 ZDP has better steel and a longer blade in a similar size profile. If the edge to handle ratio were better I'd probably pick it up. Then again, my fav folder is a Millie (~1.3 inch difference) so eh.

Very nice snag! Congrats.

I have a Leafstorm in my "office" carry managerie.

It has performed well and the Leafstorm has gotten more "that's cool" type comments than any other knife I have in that managerie.

yea that would be my biggest fear putting out $300-$400 on one knife and then one day its lost or stolen i basically just threw that money right out the window

I carry a Leaf Storm for work because of restrictions there. I really like it. The leaf-shaped S30v blade cuts like crazy, but I've never cut myself with it. It has done everything I've ever asked of it. The G10 is just the right "grippy".

For a 3" blade, I have the Bob Terzuola which has a very nice carbon fiber handle and excellent S30v blade in addition to the standard Delica 4.
