Spyderco has quite a few locking folders with 3" blades!

You can only choose one. It will take a few minutes to post the poll.

  1. Delica4
  2. Native5
  3. Para3
  4. Sage1
  5. Sage2
  6. Sage3
  7. Sage4
  8. Sage5
  9. Caly3
  10. Rubicon/Rubicon2
  11. Salt1/Tasman Salt/Snap-It Salt
  12. Battlestation
  13. Centofante4
  14. Centofante Memory
  15. P'Kal
  16. Efficient
  17. Kiwi4
  18. Khalsa
  19. Positron

Note: I broke down the various Sage models into their own choice because they have different locks and scales. I had to combine some others since BF has a limit of 20 options for a poll.

I'll have to get back to you on this one..gonna be between a Sage or the Para 3 probably.

That's a problem for me! I can't pick just one. I'll take 1-9

I went back and forth on whether to make it a single choice or allow multiple choice. We can always do a multiple choice at a later date.

There are some Spyderco locking folders excluded in this poll that are just over 3 inches and up to 3.2 inches:

  1. Domino
  2. Mantra
  3. Mantra2
  4. Lil LionSpy
  5. Yojimbo2
  6. Saver Salt
  7. Centofante3
  8. Bob Lum Chinese
  9. Rescue Salt
  10. Perrin PPT
  11. Des Horn
  12. Roc

For the record, I think the rubicon has mad sex appeal but I've never seen one in person, know anyone that has one, or could see myself owning one so I couldn't vote for it based on that; but darn it looks good in pictures.

My normal folders are mostly 3.5-4" or about 2.5" so none of my main users are on the list (Bowie, Chef, Southard, GB2, PPT, Domino, PM2, Military, Techno and CF Michael Walker)

On the list my favorite is the Memory although it is one I normally only carry with a suit ;)

I like my Centofante Memory but my favorite 3" class Spyderco, the Chaparral, is not in the poll. Granted, at 2.812" inches, it's a hair shorter than those listed, but the Delica's blade is less than .1" longer, at 2.875".

I like the Delica. For me, nothing else on the list is really close (the Centofante is probably second). There are a lot of leaf shapes in that list and that's not my favorite shape for my usage.

I excluded those below around 2.95". Harpy and Chaparral are 2.75-2.8".

NP, it's your poll. Still, for the record, the Delica 4 is only 2.875.

Had to include Delica. I looked at them on the Spyderco website and the blade lengths for Delica go from 2.876" to 2.90".

So, I guess those in the options have blade lengths of 2.90"-3.00".

Chaparral is 2.812" on the Spyderco website.

BladeForums has a limit of 20 options.

I was most concerned not to have any over 3 inches.

If you went with 2.75"-3.00" these would also be included:

  • Chaparral
  • Ouroboros
  • Introvert
  • Persistence
  • Harpy

Also, I went with BladeHQ so in some cases the data differs from Spyderco's website. As I said the Spyderco website has Delica in various blade lengths.

Spyderco has Positron at 3.05" whereas BladeHQ has it at 3.00".

BladeHQ is easier to navigate and query than the Spyderco website.

I voted D4. I loved its ergos from the start and nothing has changed my mind. Almost all other handles of knives of that size are off in some way for my hand, but not the D4. For me, it is just a question of which D4 :) Hap40 so far.
