The Lum and sheath will go out tomorrow (Priority Mail with insurance and delivery confirmation). I had hoped to send them today but we had a bit of a virus outbreak at work and I ended up spening most of my day fixing that.
Make sure your virus data files are as up to date as possible....... :barf:
Overall, I like the Lum Chinese, but I am not sure I will get one. I really like the wide flat blade. I did not get to do much cutting with it, but I like it just the same.
The handle fits my hand better than I had thought it would. I like the shape of it a lot, but it just feels too smooth. Not really slippery, that would not be fair nor accurate, but just too smooth. I really think that this knife would be improved a lot (for me) by the addition of some grooves on the spine of the blade and a low guard/kicker right at the base of the edge. I did not have any problem with my grip slipping, but I was always worried about grabbing the bottom of the blade or trying to choke up a little and getting onto it.
As always, the OST neck sheath worked perfectly. I will have to order a couple of these for the newer style Rescues at some point.
I think a G10 handled Chinese with about a 3/16 inch high bump/guard (just as tall as it could be made without sticking out the backside of the handle when closed) added to the bottom of the blade would be very close to a perfect EDC working knife.
Thanks for the chance to try it out!!
