I have it on order from NGK, but still have no news.

Does anyone know of other dealers who have them in stock?

New Graham has been slowly filling their pre-orders but there was no guarantee that they would receive enough to fill those orders. Ebay is about the only place I know you can secure one. The prices are steadily increasing as the store supplies start to dwindle to zero.

Drop New Graham a line. I was waiting and they called me but maybe they need some reminding ;)

The Lums were released in small batches. As we recieved them we contacted folks on the wait list....first come, first contacted. All we have recieved have been sold. We wait for more and will continue to contact those on our list. That said, I don't know if or when we will see more.
Everyone on the list here is still on the list. If you purchase one elsewhere, no harm, no foul....
Regards, Mike @ New Graham

sigh....I've been waiting and wanting the Lums for the past 2 years since the idea was mooted. guess I will wait more. I'm not going to pay those heavy premiums on ebay and the 'scalpers', not for something that is still being manufactured....

thanks....

I think in the case of the Lum Chinese it is either you get lucky and find one or you pay the price.

Retail is $199. It might be that you have to decide.....do I want to pay now or pay later?

Could be wrong, but I'd swear Sal posted, either here or on the factory forum, that there were no more of the ZDP-189 black Almite Lum Chinese Folders "in the pipeline", that the entire run has already been shipped to distributors and dealers.

Hi Paul,

sorry for the confusion. The sprint run is still not yet complete. The maker can make about 200 pcs per month. As we get them in, we ship them.

We are now considering additional runs in VG-10. We have one distributor that wants an exclusive run in a different color and we're considering additional runs in alternate colors.

Sal, there have been a number of occasions I was happy to be wrong. This is not one of them. This time I'm EXTREMELY happy to be wrong. :D Too many nice folks out there who still did not land one of these.

Might I suggest Mandarin Orange, Chinese Red, and Oriental Plum for future runs. :D

Fantastic news. Thank you.

Well bugger me !

I am happier than pig in ummm... you know :D

As per Paul's comments I too would like to see one of the colours he has suggested:
1) Mandarin Orange
2) Chinese Red
3) Oriental Plum

Any of the 3 would be most welcome and in VG10 would also be fantastic. Also a VG10 sprint for the Black version would be great.

I ordered my 6 Black Lums (yeah, yeah I know...greedy b@st@rd ! :P But I do love them !), and still have not got a single one as yet :( Still waiting though, after 2 years of waiting, the prize is now so close, yet still so far. Hope the QA issues have been sorted out.

What kind of QA issues did they have? Just curious because I have one and the liner lock acts a little weird. Russ

Only one very minor cosmetic issue. An "imperfection" in the finish of lower rear corner of the right handle that causes the almite to remain on a small area of the otherwise bright rim. That same "issue" was also present in the green and blue runs.

Aside from that, there was one gent unhappy because his Lum failed to survive a trip through the washer and dryer without disassembling on its own, and another who apparently bought one sight unseen and felt cheated because it was not suitable for use as a fighting knife. Both more a testament to manufacturers in general not being able to screen buyers than to any real problem with the Lum.

Mine just has a 2 stage click to the lock, I don't think there is anything wrong, I'm just not used to it. It is the zdp one by the way.
I would like to hear from people who carry these as I am considering going that route with mine. Russ

I have two black ZDP's, one I carry and one that is NIB. I like the action on the NIB knife a bit more than the one I carry and it has minutely better F&F than the NIB and by that I'm talking VERY small nuances in F&F. Mainly there are are a couple of SUPER SMALL indents on the underside edge of a liner that is filled with black compound or something. Just pin hole sized. Nothing else.

I carry mine in my normal rotation. It's a fantastic low key carry knife that I fully enjoy showing to others as well because it doesn't tend to freak the sheeple out. I don't use lanyards on most of my EDC's (a few) but I do like a small one on the Lum Chinese Folder. It tends to help deploy from my pocket and it provides added traction because the handle is not very big on these knives.

What a slicer too. BTW, I got my second one (the NIB) for under $150. IIRC it was $145. A fair price IMHO.
