I am going to throw a wrench into the mix and suggest something different that is in the same price range: the
HK14715 Axis. I have never owned a Griptilian because I can't get past the hollow plastic handles (although I've owned numerous mini-Grips over the years), and I've owned a couple of Manix2 knives. I've also owned the HK Axis, and by far I prefer it. The caged ball bearing lock on the Manix2 is very stiff, and despite having a blade almost as long as the Griptilian and HK14715, the cutting edge is a
lot shorter.
Griptilian: 154CM steel, partial liners, Valox handles, smooth Axis lock
Manix2 LW: BD-1 steel, no liners (??), translucent plastic handles, stiff CBBL
HK14715: D2 steel, full steel liners, flat-ish G10 slabs, smooth Axis lock
for only $5-8 more than the Griptilian and Manix2 LW.
For the best value for the money, the HK14715 beats both of them.
