Well, after reading the last post about this bad boy, I decided I just had to have one, sprint run be damned! I lurked on Ebay for week, and when one poped up, it was on. The fact that I couldn't afford it, that I already had a new knife in the mail, the fact that I had never held the knife in real life, and all the other reasons I didn't need it, all were tossed to the wind for this moment of bliss. I wanted it, and now I have it. This arrived yesterday.

Shown next to my Pro-tech Godfather for a sense of scale/ curvature. While aesthetically very different, they're both quite similar, in the sense that they both have aluminum handles and are incredibly sharp ;)

I'm still at the 'playing with it' stage, so I can't give a review just yet, but it, and more pictures, will be here in a few days. One things for certain though, I'm glad I bought it!

congrats on the Massad Ayoob score Mark!
I scored one like yours recently, the Spyderedge + Belly = awesome slicing! I like the Pelican boxes for knife storage too.... :)

I just got a serrated one myself. I tried to keep it mint but it was begging to be used. It cuts like a chainsaw. Damn. Now I have to buy another one to keep mint. There goes some of my next paycheck.

The C-60 Massad Ayoob is truly one of the most overlooked classics of it's time. There are several Spyders that really didn't take off until they got wacked/discontinued from the line up. But I don't know of but maybe one or 2 Spyders that got as popular after being disco'd as the Ayoob. The Gunting certainly has had a late surge of popularity after it's production was stopped and you could make a case for the Chinese and Tanto Lum folders but the Ayoob definitely has the most mystique of any of the post production Spyders I can think of off the top of my head.

I have had some pretty handsome offers for the 2 USER Ayoobs I'm blessed with ( PE & SE) and I got to admit that it is tough to turn down upward of $150 for knives that have been used but that's just how much that they mean to me.

I'm still lobbying pretty hard for it and 2 other Spyders to be reintroduced. It's currently at the top of my list. Last winter even Mr. Ayoob himself even chimmed in on the thread we had going in regard to it's possible reintroduction. It's just simply got to make a second go around and that all there is to it. I won't shut up until that dream come to pass. Congratulations of a great score my friend. You'll love it

Hey thanks for the props everyone! I'm blushing.

I'm still working on the review, since my new benchmader nitrous stryker arrived the day after the C60, and I've been playing with both, although the Ayoob rapes it pretty hard in terms of the smile producing factor.

Are there any particular photo angles, comparissons people want in the review?
