Spyderco Military anyone?

Count me as one of the knuckleheads.
I always catch myself looking at the liner lock because the lockup is so tight- I didn't know they could make linerlocks without blade play. It appears from the angle of the base of the blade where it contacts the liner lock that it will wear in a manner that the linerlock will continue to remain in close contact, ensuring solid lockup for a long time.

The handle is large and well shaped enough to be less tiring cf. smaller handles. The steel and out of box sharpness is superb. It's my favorite right now :D

I think it's fantastic, a perfect cutting tool.
If it were socially acceptable then it would by my EDC.

My old beater 440V Millie locks up as well as most new ones. Lock leaf is less than halfway across the blade even after years of, shall we say ungentle use. The lockface on the blade is ground in an arc to aid in self adjustment. It is the best engineered and executed liner lock I have ever handled, and I've seen my share.

Jill's wheel of mill! :D

Jill might, but I'm not interested. Metal handles in general don't do a thing for me. Add in the exposed lockbar of the Reeve Integral Lock that everyone else seems to love and it makes it a total washout for me. The only way I'm buying one is if they put S110V blades in them.

I carried one for a couple of years in the Army. I could never trust the liner lock with that super large cut out. It is the largest cut out of any knife I've ever owned. It made me want my AFCK back. Other than that, though, it was a great knife. It's size never scared me, I like large folders. ...but I just don't like that large access to the liner lock!

Not long ago I bought a Military from a classified internet ad. It's lightly used, and the seller kindly sent it to me here in Iraq. I'm very impressed; it's an instant favorite. I'm a spyderco fan, and the knife most certainly didn't disappoint.

I'm sure I'll be buying more.

I have two. One in CPM D-2 and the other in S90V.

Now, If we could just convince Sal to make a run in CPM M-4!:p
