Spyderco military available with tip-up carry? Or an alternative to this model?

I wanted a Military, but I've just seen that they are tip-down.
I wanted to wave mod it.

Does anybody know if there is an option for tip-up.

And if not, maybe suggest an alternative.

I'm looking for:
-Big
-Slim profile
-High quality steel
-light.
-Tip up carry
Bonus: waved

Thanks!

No tip up on the military.Have a look at the police 3 or maybe the endura.

Change to tip up by drilling 3 small holes where you want the clip then epoxy the screws in. Use the zip tie trick to wave it. Someone on these forums recently did a real professional looking job waving a Spyderhawk using a dremel and sanding. Maybe look at the Emerson range.

Hmmmm.

Not in the mood to tinker with it that much.
Rather have something that's the way I want it from the factory.

I guess I'll get and Endura. they're waved also.
I read that the locks are a bit flimsy, but I've been EDC-ing a Delica for eight years now and I'm looking for a change.

Love Spyderco, but I'm not married to the brand.

Shame about the Military, seemed like the perfect knife for me.

I've had an Endura for years and years, first a combo blade sabre grind (it was old, with the molded in clip). Now I have a FFG Endura IV; it's a sweet knife, much sturdier than it looks with steel liners. I stick with it over the Military over the same tip up preference you have. I think the Paramilitary can be tip up; you might look at those.

No shame at all. Pick one up and try it before you write it off.

I carry a Military (One of them) most of the time, makes a great all around knife.

Get a drill bit and tap for $5 switch the clip. I did this on mine and works like a charm for investing 10 mins and $5. I used an old Benchmade clip on mine b/c I could mount it to sit better. You can pick up new clips in all style for like $3 on the knife maker supply sites (and the drill/taps). You'll be happy you did it.. the Military is my favorite knife. Big, light, thin, strong and a wicked slicer.

That's exactly the impression it makes on me, the perfect all-rounder.

I've had a Endura for years. i chose it because it was the "socially acceptable" size.
I got the fully serrated version, so people still think it looks scary.

So I might as well go the whole hog and get a big one.

Endura sounds good, do they have liners now?

The Enduras and Delicas have had liners for years now. That is partly what the "4" is.

The PM2 is quad carry adjustable. Almost every benchmade is tip-up. Most Kershaw/ZTs are reversible.

I'm surprised you are having difficulty, I find tip down knives are MUCH MUCH harder to find.

Plenty of tip-ups around.
But I'd kind of decided on the military, when I noticed that it was tip-down.
I hadn't even bothered to look before, I'm so used to most knives being tip-up.

If you are completely sold on tip-up carry, you might want to take a look at the Spyderco Manix 2 XL.

It is slightly smaller than the Military and the blade shape is different too.

I own a tip-up Military (as well as a regular one). It's all it took to make it perfect. There are people on this forum who do a professional job converting the Military to tip-up. This knife is worth the extra effort.

It's actually pretty easy to do. All you should have to do is drill and tap the holes for the pocket clip screws.

Unless you use threaded inserts the clip screws are going to have a pretty delicate hold on the G10, however.
