Spyderco Military or BM Dejavoo?

I don't own either, but I have handled both. If I had to choose one it would be the Military. I like the handle better, it feels better in the hand. The blade shape is more a matter of personal preference, since both have a good blade design.

Another vote for the Military. I now own two, my original was a fully serrated version in CPM440V, and I've carried one as my weak-hand-pocket folder for the past 10 years. Never had any issues, and it's a great performer. I've recently picked up the plain edge for civilian uses (camping/backcamping)...love the performance.

Well, the guy I was going to trade with hasn't returned any of my emails for a week. Looks like I'll be waiting to get a Military:grumpy: .

I have both of these knives. My Spyderco military is limited edition with carbon fiber handles. I love this knife , lightweight, well constructed, and ergonomically correct.

I just got a mini dejavoo, this also is a very sweet, unique knife, and it's growing on me everyday. The bronze washers at the lock provide a really smooth open and close, this is another quality overbuilt knife from benchmade.

If you have any specific questions I can do my best to answer.

I've owned both, and got rid of the Dejavoo. The knife was beautiful, and I loved the blade shape, fit and finish, etc., but the ergos were just off for me. I couldn't thumb it open without my thumb catching on the handle scale at about half-swing. The military is just the most natural feeling knife in my hand.
That's pretty much been my experience with all my Benchmade vs. Spyderco dilemmas - the bm's are prettier to look at, but the spydies would win any blindfolded taste test, anyday of the week, and twice on Sundays.

I have the 740 and love it, definitely the smoothest opening knife I have handled. The Military is next on the shopping list though. For style, I would choose the 740, for function, the Military. Both are great knives.

I couldn't have said it any better, fondled the Dejavoo at my local knife store, decided to leave it there. The Milie just feels right, reduces the sheeple to quaking bowls of Jello, but feels and cuts so good.

I want to get a nice production folder. I have narrowed it down to these two. Does anyone have both? how are they for reliability? EDC practiacality? I noticed the Military does not have real liners, does this affect it at all? Thank you.

Tha Military is the best big knife I ever had. Tough and lightweight, you don't even feel you carry it. The blade geometry, with its full flat grind, makes it ideal for slicing.
And the Military has at least one steel liner (two for the BG-42 model), except that those are nested into the G-10 / CF scales. But let me tell you this: I have linerless G-10 and CF folders and the handles are my least concern.

Dejavoo is way nicer on pictures :(
Millie dont have to be nice, cuz its working horse…
Millie's ergos is superior IMO

Spyderco Military CF/BG42, best folder i've got. Smooth, tough, easy on the eye, great lockup, crazy sharp, lightweight, slim, takes and holds a great edge, did I say TOUGH ;)

OK! another vote for the Millie! I would try to get a CF BG-42 Blade if you could but the S30V G-10 is great also and a little cheaper. I have both and have said many times if I could have only one pocket knife for all time it would be a Spyderco Military! Great Knife!
