I just purchased two Spyderco Military models made with the S90V steel. Both show a model number of C36CF90VP on their boxes. One of the box ends, however, shows "Military LG 101V" and "101V" is marked on the blade adjacent to the the spider symbol. The other box shows "Military BH" and the blade does not show the "101V." Otherwise, the two knives appear the same and have the same markings.

Would someone please explain the variation? When I ordered the two knives, I thought I'd receive the same variant. In fact, I didn't know there were multiple variations of this model.

The two letters "LG and BH" tell when the knife was "born." Each letter corresponds to its respective number, ie 1=A, 2=B, 3=C, etc.

So like my Delica Wave and one of your Militarys, LG = 12/07, or December of 2007.

And like mac said, the 101v is, I believe, a collector's number.

To add further. You have received the same Miliatary Variant (that being the S90V version) one being a regular model and one being the regular model with the extra engraving done for Collector Number 101. The only difference is the engraving.
