Spyderco Military CTX-XHP - Sprint Run (see more)

Spyderco regularly offers short-term, limited number releases called Sprint Runs. Sprint Runs allow knife enthusiasts to experience their favorite knife model with a different or unique blade steel, handle material or color. The Spyderco Military Model lends itself to variation making it an ideal candidate for a Sprint Run.

Carpenter Technolgy Corporation is known for their performance automotive, aerospace, defense, and consumer-products steels. Carpenter recently began manufacturing high-performance steels for knife making. Their CTS-XHP is air hardened, high carbon and high chromium steel with corrosion resistance similar to 440C-type steels and with hardness qualities found in tool steel. Its edge retention ability, ease in machining to a fine edge, and consistent heat-treatability make it perfect for a Spyderco Sprint Run.

The C36GPBNXHP Military Sprint has a conventional Military Model blade-shape made of CTS XHP that is PlainEdge and ground-flat with an oversized blade hole. Machined into the spine and choil is jimping that prevents the knife slipping forward or backward in the hand while forcefully cutting or sawing.

The blade is teamed with a brown G-10 handle and a Michael Walker LinerLock?. The lock's liner is nested/recessed into the scale for greater lock strength without bulky internal handle liners.

Open back-spacers create a gap exposing the folder's inner workings and make maintenance and cleaning effortless while ensuring reliable performance even in the dirtiest, harshest environments.

A contoured metal clip is set for right-hand tip-down carry. Made in Golden, Colorado U.S.A. Earth
