Spyderco Military vs. Para 2

I'd go the other way on the ergo comparison. The Military works better for me as an ambi-friendly knife and works much, much, much better with gloves, both of these because of the generous cutout for the locking leaf.

Why are there two threads started at the same time?
Threads being merged.

I have both, and i have to say my preference is the military. The problem with the military is that once you get used to carrying it, anything smaller doesn't feel quite right. I love the pmil and play with it when im watching tv and such, but i just cant bring myself to take the millie out of my pocket when i leave the house. If you get the pmil first, you may never run into this problem :p.

I have both and like both but the compression lock and new bushing system of the Para 2 make it my favorite and the one I carry more often. Also the CTS-20CP (similar to S90V) Para 2 sprint is very compelling compared to my plain old S30V Millie. Looking forward to getting a Millie in a better steel soon but I still think I will prefer the Para 2 due to the compression lock and the super smooth action of the new bushing system. Also, the 3.5 inch blade of the P2 is easier for me to use for just about everything but food prep which is something I very rarely do with a folder.

I like the Para 2 and won't hesitate to skin a deer with it. Holes in the hide only bother me if I'm mounting the head and it's been 10 years since I mounted the last one. I mainly just do skull mounts and put it on a pedestal. I carry mine everyday. The military just didn't fit my hand right, and I like the comp lock better than a liner lock.

I originally had it in the spyderco forum.. later I decided to post it on general knife discussion and it merged them automatically..

The owner of the website (Bastid) merged the threads into one. You are only supposed to post the same thread once and not make multiples in different sections of the forum. It might even get you an infraction if you make a habit of it as it just makes more work for the moderators. Just thought I would give you an explanation and if you are new you may want to read the forum rules and FAQ so you are familiar with how the site runs.

I find the handle on the para 2 to be to small for my hand I don't like how you unlock the blade.
My military used to be my favorite edc, however the pocket clip sucked.
My endura 4 with zdp-189 and my military used to see a lot of pocket time, but both of their clips either came loose and bent or just bent.
I have not bent a single other pocket clip on knives by other manufactures, so I believe it is a design problem.
If you don't have a problem with the clip try to handle both to see how they fit in your hand.
Other than my problem with the clip I think the military is a great knife

I've owned 6 different Military models, and possess 3 currently. They have played a huge role in my EDC lineup. I have ever only owned one Para the D2 model in Foliage Green G-10 I carried it for a week - and it went into storage.

Military Hands Down (Between the two I'm actually a huge Manix fan, but that wasn't an option) YMMV
