Got lucky on Knifecenter, should be here saturday. Blade HQ sold what they had in minutes, will have more in the coming weeks. Sprint run, this is my first spyderco. Looking foward to it, will be mainly a work knife.

One that I had pre-ordered arrived late last week, and I just got shipment notification for a backup that I ordered this week.

powernoodle,
Your name makes me 'laugh out loud' every time I see it. Thank you for brightening my day!

What does this CTS XHP compare to? S30V?

CTS-XHP has been called a stainless D2. It has higher Chromium than D2, which makes it stainless as well as a splash of nickel.

As far as comparing it to S30V, I'd have to leave that up to Jim. My guess is that it's a little tougher than S30V but probably has similar wear properties.

BTW: Yes, I got mine. :D

I got lucky as well and managed to snatch one up from Kniveworks this morning before they were pulled, Hopefully the Earth Brown Para 2 will not take too long so I can have a matching set :)

If Knifeworks gets a second batch, I will get one, I was going to order one today but by the time I got home they were sold out! No worries, I did order a Para 2 to hold me over until another batch comes out.

Performance-wise it's certainly above a lot of production knives. Corrosion resistance however doesn't seem to be in the same league as S30V. I'd personally describe it as a tougher counterpart to ZDP-189.
