spyderco moran

I just bought a Moran FB02 and love it. I will be using it as a camp knife and think it will work quite well. As mentioned above, it's probably not good for chopping, but then again that is what saws and axes are for IMO. I hunt a lot too and the Moran will rock for me. The Moran also carries VERY nicely, but still seems like plenty of knife for what I need.

FYI: I sold a Temperance to buy the Moran, the Temp is a super great knife too, but for my applications and personal taste, the Moran just works better for me.

I have the FB01 and I love the this knife. Mine is definitely part of my camping kit...it's my preferred deer dressing knife too. Not too big. Not too small. Pretty nice sheath too.

I've long extolled the virtues of the Moran FBs by Spyderco. I have the FB01 and have cleaned many game animals quickly without much sharpening along the way. As a camp knife, I'd say it's so-so because it is a very lightweight knife and wouldn't be the best for chopping chores. If you spend alot of time at camp, I'd recommend a stouter fixed blade for all around duties but keep a Moran in your back pocket for finer chores.
