Spyderco Mule Team, these looks great.

Just ordered one.

If it works out well for me, I can see putting some G10 or Micarta handle scales on it.

A friend of mine just ordered one and I've been following 'em.

A post in the Spyderco forum states that there is a limit of two per customer/order. There will be 600 total with 200 going to collecter club members. Of the 400 left, 50 of them sold yesterday alone. They are available again but only at the Spyderco website or at the SFO in Golden, CO. (Of the 200 going to the "collectors", two have already made their way on to eBay.)

There will be other releases of this knife with different steel each time. The first run is the 52100 that is available now. No word on the next steel in the lineup.

If you're thinking of pulling the trigger on one of these, do it as they seem to be moving quick. I plan on waiting for the next steel offering. I hope its A2, although I wouldn't scoff at any of the current wonder steels.

Thanks for that, I didn't realize they were so limited. Better get my order in.

They won't ship to a PO Box, unfortunatley. For me that means, lost, stolen or just forgotten about by our fantastic local delivery company, arctic express.
Someone convince how good this steel is, maybe I can ship it to my parents place in NS.

Reading all the articles by Ed Fowler I have always wanted to try 52100. It's supposed to be a really great steel, but I haven't had any personal experience with it.

Thanks for this thread! I've been waiting on the mule since they were first announced quite a while ago. I just ordered mine.

Thanks tknife. I never knew such an animal existed. That would be something sweet to play with in regards to putting my first set of scales on a knife.

I really like the idea of a Spyderco fixed blade blank in carbon steel, But why the hole in the blade? I don't think I'll be opening it anytime soon?

If you read the page about the steel it says its corrosion resistance is pretty poor. Means you would have to oil it pretty frequently if your getting it wet. But at that price i will probably order one and punish it.

Gonna have to drive down there. Spyderco outlet is 15 minutes from my house.

I stopped by there while in Denver on business last year. The team at Spyderco are outstanding. Very friendly, and Sal is leading the bunch when it comes to customer service and all around niceguyism.

While you're there, ask him where my Aqua Salts are. Its the perfect boat/canoe knife and I'd like to have one before the ice melts. :D:p

GEEZ , what a great deal......

I hope they have one left when I get paid on the 15th !!!! :D

I'm already getting ideas on scale materials...... oh man I wish I had one to work on this weekend. :D

By the way TKNIFE , THANKS for posting this !!!

I just ordered mine. As I said over on the Spyderco forum, I'll probably be sampling many of Chef Boyardee's fine meal selections over the next week as a result, but I think it will be well worth it!
