Spyderco Native 5 Pocket Clip Problem

I do not have another pocket clip. I did install new torx screws sent to me by Spyderco. I have not tried the other clip positions. Thats a good idea. I'll try it.

Your right. Shipping and waiting sucks The knife is brand new and its been carried only 8 days. Sent back to Spyderco 3 weeks. Cost for shipping $8.00 with insurance. Still no kinfe I can carry.

I had this problem with one of my para2's. As far as I can tell, the g10 squishes a little bit when new over the course of a day or two. I think I ended up re-loctiting and tightening the screws twice, but since then it has been fine. The screws did seem tight when this would happen and I couldn't do more that move the clip from side to side a bit.

I've owned 6 N5's so far, and 4 of them had this issue.

I fixed it by applying a TINY amount of Gorilla Glue under the clip, then tightening the screws down. The glue holds it steady it and will NOT move.

ETA: The Screws from a Spyderco Military work as well. For some reason they hold the clip down when the stock screws won't.

THIS is the reason I never sent my N5 off to Sal. All I wanted was to ask if they could send me some screws from a Millie along with my new N5. Never got a reply back, after 5 emails.....

Thanks for the info. I thought it was just My N5. I'll try the Gorilla Glue. I'll try and get the Military screws too. Changing the carry position of the pocket clip did not work I will try this.

Remember to follow the instructions on the GG bottle. You have to apply a little bit of water to make the glue bond the clip and G10. Also, if you need to remove the clip the bond is relatively easily broken.

Apply a TINY bit of the glue. It expands as it sets so too much and it will get all over the place. Haha.

The screws holding my Native5 pocket clip were not loose when I got it.
They did become loose over a time span of several months.
I removed each one and added Loctite "removable".
So far, so good.

The problem isn't the screws coming loose. It's the pocket clip being loose despite the screws being as tight as possible. Although the screws from the Millie work perfectly. Strange.

Exact same problem with mine.I bought a new clip and screws.I put my own lock tight on them and really tightened them down.So far the problem is gone.

I bought a Spyderco Native 5 a few months ago. I carried it as an EDC blade for 5 days and then notice that the pocket clip was loose. The torx screws were tight and secure but the pocket clip would move from side to side. I sent the knife into Spyderco and 3 weeks later I had a new Native 5. I carried the new knife for 3 days and the same thing started to happen again. Has anyone else had a problem like this with there Spyderco pocket clip? This was my first Spyderco knife. I think it may have somthing to do with the G-10 scales. I love the looks and the feel of the Native 5 but the pocket clip is pissing me off. To date this Native 5 is the most expensive knife I own.
I have never had a problem like this with any of my knives with a pocket clip. After I noticed this problem I checked all of my other knives that have a pocket clip. No problem with non of the other knives. most of my knives with a pcket clip are Kershaws. I also have one mini Grip, a Barrage and one large Grip. My Kershaw Storm 2 I bought new in 2004 I used it every day as a truck/bus mechanic....Pocket Clip never came loose. I did have to tighten one frame screw on the Storm 2 last year. All other knives no problem.
I just got a native chief a few days ago and I have the same thing going on but I can see the screws are also loose. I'm suprised, I have many spydercos and haven't seen this before.

Is it possible that screws are too long and not able to bottom out even though tight?
