Spyderco native 5 question.

You got a great knife. Cold Steel showed us you do not need liners in a G10 knife and Spyderco showed us you do not need them in an FRN knife.

The back lock will take some breaking in. It will never be like a liner lock (thank goodness!). It is much safer having a bias to close. Enjoy your little tank of a knife.

Two great knives. One reason to add a Native 5 would be the steel options. I have a Maxamet.
Great point. I like variety in steels. So far I have S35VN, S30V, CTS-XHP, M390, 20CV, HAP40, and LC200N. For a Native 5 I’d be most interested in a linerless G10 or carbon fiber version, but a new steel would be a plus.

I got a new, linerless G10 Native 5 in S30V over a month ago, and it's a great knife. I had ordered the S35VN version with liners, but this is what I got instead. I suppose the supply of S35VN versions were all bought up. Nevertheless, I'm quite happy with my knife. There is zero flex in the linerless G10 handles.

One of the things I really like about the Native 5 design is the improved backlock. The notch is deeper and lockup feels more solid than, say, the D4 and E4.
