Spyderco Native 5

Good news. I think the 5 will be my first Native. Any word on price yet?

Same here.

I think this thread needs pics:

The catalog says 4.5oz (128g). This seems way heavier than other knives in this size, 2oz heavier than the original Native. Is this a misprint? Why so heavy?

I hope it's a misprint as well but doubt it. I think it has steel liners, a beefier blade and pivot than the original. The all steel C41 was 4.6oz.

It's simple. Steel is heavier than plastic (FRN).

I've been at odds of waiting for the Native 5 or getting a Para 2. Based on weight specs the Para 2 is winning. But will still remain on the list.

It's late Summer. If the fluted titanium scaled version has to come out first and the standard has to wait, I won't cry too much. Promise.

My Native, bought at walmart for $40, is still the only Spyderco I own. It was a good price. A shame they don't still carry them. I was thinking of another spyderco and found a flutted ti Military for $230 preorder but forget where what website that was.

What's even more strange is that the clip has all three screws in the larger picture which appears if you click on the smaller one.

Spyderco fixed their website with a proper pic

If the larger pic is linked to it, it will be correct when you click it

It might update the thumbnail if you refresh your internet cache

It looks just like the Sage to me. What's different, really, about this knife?

I like my original Native FRN very much. But it has a totally different blade shape than the Native 5.
