How come we don't see or here anything about the Stainless Steel Native with the AUS10 steel blade? Is it a special order item or has it been discontinued?
 
It has been discontinued, to the best of my knowledge. Very hard to find, as I tried to find one for a while before giving up and just getting the zytel type.

If you can find one on the internet, you can probably find a pretty good deal. However, the only one that I have been able to find, anywhere, was at a mall dealer, and he wanted $150-ish or more, and it had one or two chipped 'teeth'. Sorry, pass.

I got mine from Chai cutlery. I am not sure if he has any left, but I like it. Good price too.

The model was put on hold due to a number of problems. Various parts were re-engineered and the model is back in production at this time. The current model is very nice in all respects. Production quantities are not very large, but should be consistant. AUS-10 has proven to be a nice "cutter", about the same as ATS in the corrosion end. Stainless heft. L/R tip up clip. large flat stainless surface of the handle offers engraving capabilities. A good all around size, not too large (politically correct), but large enough to handle large chores.

Dang it, dang it, dang it, dang it!!! There ya go again with another one that I want!!! Or have wanted for a while, even. One question: will a plain bladed version be available? Please say no, so I can strike the SS Native from my list again...

My informants tell me it's 60/40 only..no plain edge will be available....

Well, even though my statement above was facetious for the most part, I am kind of glad that it is partial serration. While I LOVEthe Native pattern, I can resist adding the serrated versions to my collection until I have more money.
