I just got a couple of Spyderco natives the other day. One of them was loose and smooth with a little bit of blade play. So i set it on the slate top of my pool table and tapped the rivets with a hammer. Now its fine. Now the other one is the total opposite, its too tight and can't be opened one handed smoothly. Is there anyway i can loosen the rivets? I tried opening and closing it about 100 times but its still tight as hell. Anything i can do?
Thanks

Nugg3t All I can think of is to lube it and keep working it to see if it loosens up. If it is REALLY tight you may want to send it to Spyderco for them to check out. Trying to pull the blade left and right might loosen it but it might screw it up too. One of those make your choice and take your chances type of things.

Good luck and let us know if you found a way to make it work. . .

Send it back. You already have one of those marvels of modern science working well. There are some people out there who don't even have Spyderco Natives.

Maybe we could start a fundraiser to supply every patriotic American with a Spyderco Native so that they can handle every cutting chore short of skinning a sequoia tree. We'll have a Spyderco Military fundraiser if that's needed.

:D

If the blade is just tight, keep working it to loosen it. A drop or two of lube would fix things up quicker.
