Spyderco Navaja vs. Sage 2 vs. Chokwe

Welcome to Bladeforums!

IIRC they are all made with the same blade steel (S30V), similar locking mechanisms (two titanium frame-locks and a linerlock) and are all made in Taiwan (which has incredible quality control).

The better question is, what sort of things do you plan on using the knife for? Which one is more aesthetically pleasing? Will the Navaja's carraca mechanism becoming annoying after a while?

I vote for the Chokwe, because the Navaja has always seemed like a "novelty" to me with the carraca.
But, it is all preference. They are similar with their materials, country of origin, etc.

Thanks for response.. I think I will get the chokwe first and later the sage 2.. I am new to the knife community and I am very attracted to Titanium.... as well as Carbon Fiber..
Thanks Again

As others have said, the materials and quality are similar, so the main factor will be which of their rather different shapes/sizes you find most appealing and well-suited to the tasks you'll be using it for.

For what it's worth, my favorite is the Chokwe, which is a superb slicer and, despite the seemingly strange handle shape, has sneakily excellent ergonomics. The Sage 2 is an excellent smaller knife, although I ended up selling my Sage 2 because I prefer the Sage 1. The only one of the three I don't really like is the Navaja: the carraca doesn't really bother me, but the less-than-excellent (at least for me) ergonomics and, especially, poor liner lock access do.

Edit: Just saw your follow-up post about what you decided -- I think you made an excellent choice. :)

I mostly use my knives for cutting stuff open, edc and i like like a knife that I can defend myself with.. I think the Chokwe will do.

I'd go with the sage 2 myself mainly due to the Titanium handle which IMO is incredible also I've heard story after story about how the overall quality of this knife is superb and some will go as far as to say it rivals Chris Reeve.

They are quite different. Kinda like saying should I get a Ford F-150, a Subaru SUV, or a Harley Davidson Sportster. The Sage 2 is the most conventional and probably most useful for everyday use. (Let's call it a Honda Accord.)
