Spyderco Neck Knife?

I made the necklace

The clasp is held by single rings, they would let loose before they strangled me.

Hi Sithus,

That's a beautiful necklace. Makes the knife look good. Do you make them for sale? I would like to get a titanium necklace, thin enough for my totem necklace.

Hi Marion, it's a little longer than the Swick 1 with the warncliffe. It has an S30V full flat ground leaf shape blade, built and on the shelf. 500 pcs. Swick2. We also added holes to the tang so a handle could be added, kinda like the Mule Team.

Very nice to hear, I will be on the lookout for them...

And holes for handles? That's promising!

Cannot wait to see it!

Yes I do make them for sale. Besides knives making maille is my other hobby, sometimes it pays for my knives.

I want a hawkbill Swick in S30V :) Since we're asking. I love my swick, wish I had bought two.

Hmm. I need to handle a swick. The handle looks slightly awkward to me. Love to see more traditional design, with a straight back handle. Would help with food prep, if it had a straight handle and more leaf shaped blade.

You know, I am not such a fan of neck knives when that is the specific purpose, but I like neckers like the Becker that can be carried in different ways. Speaking for myself, a fixed blade version of the Endura or Delica would be fan-freaking-tastic in that regard.

Seriously, this is something I personally have thought would be rad for a long time, and I am convinced it would look cool too. Take the basic lines of an open Endura, translate that onto a solid piece of steel, voila! But, I am sort of biased in that I don't think that my favorite company has really ever developed a better knife than the Endura. Many that are equally as cool, but none that are better.

Wow! Just yesterday I was wishing Spyderco made a leaf-shaped neck knife or small fixed blade. The Swick 2 sounds awesome.

So will it have the same handle as the Swick 1?

It's kinda small for food prep. Think of it as a box-cutter on steroids.

I found this, if you like the necklace...

by the way SITHUS, how much would you charge to make a necklace like yours? It looks great!

For me those are huge rings, I prefer smaller 20ga (.032) wire for a lighter more refined weave. Considering the time and effort put into a piece and the cost of materials, prices in the range from $150 to $200 are not uncommon. You would be surprised how many people still make this stuff.

I like the idea of a wharncliffe blade in the Swick style.

Yeah 2 1/8" is a bit short, I hadn't looked it up. But I was thinking along the lines of Izula blade length. And by food prep, I mean neck knife food prep :D aka you're at work preparing a sandwich, some fruit, etc... The same stuff I do with my Opinel #6 which has a sub 3" blade. Not preparing a 4 course meal, with 18 types of veggies and meat, etc...

Then again, maybe Sal just sees that the izula type market has plenty of offerings out there already, so sticks to mixing it up, like they do best. I personally find no use for a box cutter on steroids type necker. I see neckers more valuable as a jack of all trades, tough little fixed blade, that needs a tad more reach than the swick. cool little knives though, and I am a sucker for a nice Wharnie blade :p

If I could legally carry a necker, I might pick one up, but in Cali you can't conceal any length fixed blade :thumbdn:

So they're all built and ready? When can we expect them to ship? Also, will they come without a sheath like the last run of Swicks? An included sheath would be nice, but either way, I'm excited for these!

Hi Sithus,

You have your email turned off. I had a question about your necklace but don't want to clutter up this thread. Could you shoot me an email? Thanks!
