I really like the looks of this knife, but just wanted to get some opinions before I buy. I love Spyderco's. Thanks in advance.

I think it's an absolutely beautiful knife, but from what I have read about the fragility of its edge, I just can't pull the trigger on getting one.

The chipping problem has been fixed that was only on earlier versions.

Thanks for letting me know its fixed.

I read that Spyderco put a tiny bevel on the edge to try to solve the problem but the improvement was minimal. If someone has personal experience to the contrary, I'm interested.

I think that it is a beautiful knife, but like you guys have said, the edge sounds a little too fragile for me. That said, if the problem is fixed, I would love one!

A version with a secondary bevel was tested and was damaged in light cutting of cardboard. Google nilakka review and you'll find it easily.

I recant looking at other reviews the edge is fixed but still broken. I mean it's only for like food prep cutting and that's it, I went searching and it is better then previously but still not a edc knife.

I ordered it anyway, it's just gonna be mostly for use at the office

I love mine, but I will admit, aside from fileting alotta walleye and crappie on a camping trip it hasn't seen much "outdoor use"....I use it mainly for food prep in the kitchen. it is a very well made knife (love those Taiwan Spydercos) and probably one of my favorite knives in their lineup.

Well it came yesterday, and I am disappointed. I cut one zip tie and its dull. Like won't even cut my finger dull. I know the scandi grind is thin, but I guess I'll have to reserve this one to food prep and light duty. Beautiful knife, very comfortable in hand.

Thanks for the update. I have to say I'm disappointed in your result -- such a beautiful knife. My wallet is relieved though.

Its a very thin grind, and thus is not meant for heavy work. It was also a very thick zip tie.

I very very seldom do heavy work, but the thought of such a fragile edge would make me nuts. But I assuaged my feelings and satisfied by itch for a Scandinavian blade by ordering a Helle Dokka, which should arrive today.
