Update. I have used, carried, and open and closed this thing non stop sense I got it. Well yesterday it completely broke in and it is amazing now. I love the style of this knife so much I am buying a custom Nirvana from Peter Rassenti. Here is the knife I am getting from Peter.

RL's post had me laughing pretty good.
Yea I got ahold of Peter and it was the coolest and easiest transaction I have ever done when it comes to a custom knife. He said this knife would be done in 2 to 3 weeks. I already got another lined up if he can do it. This sheeps foot Damasteel

I'm glad you're digging your Nirvana CJW. And I'm jealous of those Rassentis you have in the works. Can't wait to see your pics

Upon review, I owe the forum, its members, and moderators an apology for my earlier post. The utterance in its context was clearly able to to be read and parsed in such a manner as to demonstrate exquisitely poor taste on the speaker's part, and I offer my sincere apologies to anybody who might have been offended by my words. Please know that offense was not my intent. I think if you give me a chance, you'll see that I am somewhat sensitive to the role context plays in determining the intention of a given concept presented semantically.

Please do consider this post that apology.

Thank you, and regards.

Ok I am gonna keep doing that and in 2 weeks if that doesn't help I will send it to Spyderco. I wonder why they didn't put in a steel lock bar insert or carbonize these to begin with. Other then that I really like the knife.

Because there's no room for the milling machine to do the cutout to put the steel insert from the inside like they did with Mantra and the new Advocate,

Eric explained it in the 2016 shot show footage why some of the Model does not have insert and some do, he said it depends on the deployment mechanism, if it's a flipper that you flip all the time and we do, and couple that with any slight wrist action will impart a lot more force/momentum where the lock bar will lock(travel) further into the blade tang and this normally result in lock stick. He said it also depend on how big a blade and handle scale etc...

I think it happens more on softer steels. I did have problem with my 2 chokwee, both have lock stick so tight I had to use both hands to pry it unlock. Sent them back and they gave me credit :( I was hoping they would have the facility to carbonize the lock face... I really like Chokwee and wish they do another version of it.

Best advice I heard was graphite and flick the snot out of it. Most people said theirs broke in

Ditto

I was also considering getting one but the fact that the blade finish (not sure if very fine media blast or acidwash) makes it very corrosive due to the porous surface i decided not to.

A few other nitpicks, there are several frame lock/liner lock flippers that have a custom pocket clip and this one being the most expensive folder to date by spyderco and having that same old pocket clip even though very functional is just not acceptable to me. I dont care what finish they put on it.

If i consider the following:
-lock stick
-high lockbar tension
-bad finish on blade which makes it more corrosion prone
-standart pocket clip

And when u add those all up and at that price point i personally cannot justify getting it. But hope you dont have those issues.

I have thought about my "luck." For right now, I will just reiterate my purchase of a Nirvana for '16 xmas for myself: it is the smoothest Spydie outpf the box so far, easily opened with a flick of the finger in the hole, and closed one handed. One month old, it is as smooth and easy as my circa 2000 Endura.
