So lately i've been on a Kershaw buying kick (since my last Spyderco, the Delica ZDP-189, I've bought a Kershaw Shallot, Groove, Mini Cyclone, and a Skyline!) I went to the knife store today fully intending to leave with a ZT 0400 Scavenger in my hands. Wasn't the case.

After trying the wave feature on the Endura once, I plopped down the cash. This knife is just so awesome. It's my first Endura, too. I find this far more useful than any assisted opener or switchblade - pull it out of your pocket and it's already open! Kudos to Ernest Emerson on this one, and Kudos to Spyderco and company for incorporating this design feature in their line. I think it'll be a while before I get sick of playing with this knife...

Congrats!!!

If you want a beefy folder, go for the chinook!!!!

I had forgotten about the Chinook!

How much do they run? Honestly, for a "retardedly beefy" knife it's pretty much impossible to beat the 0200 - for about $110 retail, it is just absurdly heavy duty. I'll have to check out a Chinook though!

It would be in that ballpark for price or a bit better if you hunt a bit. :)

The Chinook seems to be running around $115 at the moment.

I can't recommend this knife enough! Great cutter. Great lock. Great ergonomics. Built like a bank vault but still comfortable in the pocket.

What function does that little hook on top of the finger hole have?

That's the Wave. When you draw the knife tip up, you catch that hook on the corner or edge of your pocket and it swings the blade out.

Thats pretty cool but,
that seems like it would do a lot of wear and tear on the pants pocket.

Depends how much you play around with this feature :D

It DOES eat up the pockets a bit, but less then one would think and not THAT much worse than a clipped knife does anyway.

No, not really. At least not in my experience. The hook is smooth. It just grabs onto the seam until the blade rotates about its pivot, and once it reaches the right angle, it comes off the seam and centrifugal force does the rest of the work to get the blade to lock. I use it all the time, and my pockets have experienced no wear these 6 months.

Now the Ti-Lite implementation, on the other hand... That one uses friction via a rough quillion to catch and dig into the pocket seams to open. That, on the other hand, will rip up your pocket.
