Spyderco once again shows it is a class act.

Good Karma Sal!

I hope no soccer mom gets her size 48 panties in a bunch and says somethignt to the effect of "In light of our national tragedy, it is completely inappropriate to give someone a knife as a gift."

But just to be safe, if any of them declined the knife, I'll take it:)

That's a spectacular thing to do. As time goes on, everyone will always remember what happened, and the heroes of the day will certainly be remembered as a part of the whole ordeal, but some of the more poignant memories still fade with time. Those knives may be one of the best forms of appreciation those men will ever get. Better than any medal or award. They're awards that will help get the job done, and keep helping long after this job is over, and be a continuing reminder of everyone's appreciation. And for sure they're awards that will stay in those men's pockets for a long time to come.

I agree it's pretty cool to hear of knives that were used to help, not just of the ones used to destroy. Besides that, it's even better to see one of the companies that's making a direct contribution, not just taking them.

Bravo.

Thanx for the kind words. As Gail says, Spyderco tries to do the right things for the right reasons. We're also trying to asist in other ways as well.

It is the responsibility of ALL Americans to work through this crisis in any way that they can help. WE have much to do, to learn, to understand and to evolve.

What a nice gesture - exactly what I've come to expect from Sal and his crew. Makes me proud to be a Spyderco owner.

I bought my first Spyderco in 1990 (an endura) at the personal recommendation of Mr. Ayoob. I've carried one or another ever since.

As a former upstate NY fire chief/AEMT (9 years) I applaud your contribution to the rescue efforts in the aftermath of 9/11. I am proud to carry Spyderco knives.
