I went there with my Dad this weekend, and man it is a nice place. I was suprised they had randalls there. The knife I got was a hossom dayhiker. I'm hooked on spydecos now.

Oops I only have 2 but here they are. Sorry that they are big.

Are the scales green or grey? They look like they might shape-shift in different light like the foilage green Spydercos.

the release letter says the scales are "green-grey" micarta, i'm not kidding...
in hand it looks mostly green though.

Are prices in store lower, comparable or higher than on line sources?

Except for "special" deals like clearance items, seconds, and the like, the outlet store's prices are usually higher than the prices at most of the major online sellers like New Graham (though still usually below MSRP).

I guess Spyderco doesn't want to undercut their distributors. I live in the Denver area, though, and sometimes it's worth paying more than I would at an online seller if I'm able to paw through several of one model before buying it (make sure I get tight lockup, etc. etc.).

(Not that Spyderco has many QC problems!)

The SFO prices 25% below MSRP. So, I'll let you do the math. But when they have sales they have great prices like MG_Saldivar said.

I am with him though, I like to shop there cause they really will let you pick thru a large amount of the knives and pick the "best" one. I got my Para there and I think I check 20 different knives.

The 2nds sale is amazing. I just got a CF ZDP-Caly 3 for $40 cause it was a "2nd" (the sale was today)

Awesome deal on the Caly, Tricod. I got a turquoise Kopa for about 35% of MSRP that was a "second" and a Byrd Raven one almost literally for free for the same reason (~$5, IIRC).

Plus, I "accidentally" take along my Spydie EDC plus a few other Spydies to get sharpened while I browse. :)

Also, Tricod gets the Iron Man Spydie Fan award for driving around in the Denver-area foothills (Golden) today - the streets are skating rinks here!

First post on the spyderco forum here but just thought I'd throw in my "thank you!" to spyderco for the sale today. I left the house this morn' with a humble spyderco collection of a native (vg10), an endura trainer, and a blue yojimbo. a few hours later I returned a little lighter in the wallet but being the proud owner of a second native, two p'kals, three bench stones, and a full sized and "mini" manix. great to be able to pull all that loot for less than $200. Yeah, they are all 2nds, but I'm a user so it makes no difference to me...Thanks spyderco!

holy crap anewguy...... thats alot of knives for $200.... im contemplating a trip to colorado now.

When you guys say "seconds" what do you guys mean? How big of issues we talking here?

Before you make a trip, realize that the sale is an Annual Seconds and overstock. "Second" means that it has a defect. Many times, the defect is not noticable. The second Byrdwrench that I bought was "too tight when it closes".

Thanks for all the info and congrats on all the nice knives.... i really like the look of those hossum knives.
