Spyderco Pacific Salt and H1 Steel in General: Your opinions?

I use a Saver Salt for cutting tomato plants. They're acidic enough to rust/pit some stainless steels (and the plants are covered in acyl sugars that stick to anything and everything and require soap and a hose to remove). Fairly sure I could use an S30v blade if I washed it regularly, but I'd much rather not have to worry about obsessively cleaning my tools.

I also use it for the usual stuff- pond & stream work, that sort of thing.
 
Still my favorite and most carried folder of all, can't go wrong with it!

I've never tried to sharpen a serrated knife. Do you need the rods from the sharpmaker system to do it? I've always used flat diamond stones for PE knives and never attempted to sharpen a SE.
