@Vinny,

what i really want to know is: What are you worried about or why are you?

Seems like you have read too much on forums, :) .

Please let me know.

perhaps you should email / contact spyderco? I'm sure garageboy will vouch that the paramilitary is a fabulous blade....

This picture don't give a clear idea of the amplitude of this so-called defect, take a picture where we can see the whole knife, and then make a close up with a coin next to it so we can have a scale reference.

Shown like that, this could be any knife on that picture... all I can say on my paramillie, is: it's a stout little knife that fits my need perfectly.

From reading his posts I assume that Vinny77 is a complete knife "noob". He may have just bought his first "expensive" knife and wants to be quite sure that he has spent his money wisely.
I don't think he's trolling.
Time will tell.

are you guys for real, or what?!

just LOOK at the pic, that ain't no blade of a Spyderco Para-Military by a loooong shot. even the file-name "DSC00146%20(Custom)" he chose for it, is weird.

the pic clearly shows some sort of assymetrically ground FS-dagger or similar knife, with a very thin edge and a photoshopped "bent tip". just save the pic on your pc and use a graphic program and magnify it......

and let's just say it IS a bent tip on a DIFFERENT knife......what kind of weirdo would ask us if there could be something wrong with his tip, and says het can feel it grabbing on paper??!! just look at that photshopped pic, if that were for real, than it's enormously obvious that the tip is seriously bent in a 90 degree angle. what kind of nitwit would not know what that is on his knife?!

seriously guys, c'mon! he's just messing around and polluting the forums. you can also check out his posts-record. just look at all the noob questions, and his spelling is like an 8 year old kid's.....

the thought alone that i even participated in some of his questions, of which i spent a good deal of time figuring out what to write and how to help him,....just makes me feel sick to the stomach. :barf:

try a google-search on his user-name. you'll find all kinds of forums related to his pictures and EDC-shots. digi-cams, videogames, pc hardware, mobile phones and protable audio. now don't try and tell me that's a coincidence.

in fact, if you do the search you'll notice he's been banned on 3 forums, and on those where you can still read his posts, his profile is similar and his spelling is much better. odd eh?

moderators: feel free to move to a better suited forum. i also understand that i'm making this thread even worse now myself, sorry about that. just need to vent some frustration. note to self: must learn to not feed the trolls.

Sometimes we do see some guys or galls with problems we never thought, that could be problems. I remember @knifeurbator who made me sick about his, that was his name mastur.... with knves and after that grining how bad they were. Real consumers should eat their knives. :barf:

But, just remembering how the whole information about knives confused me, as i started to look into this forum, i can imagine, that vinny really is confused about what he´s got. Is this one really as good as others or not, shall i keep it? Yes, what about a tip that can be fixed easy by myself? But am i a fool not to go for replacement?.....All the knives i heard of are so faboulous, but mine is not.

It´s just a reflection of the hype.

I mean if you feel sick, stay away. Leave the willing give good advice and if vinny takes it for serious he will get out fine. If he insists on pointing at suposed defectives he has a problem for his own. Maybe he is just disapointed about the knife.

If you buy something with high expectations and receive something lower, disapointment will lead you to find any dust of failure. At that point you better replace the knife o buy a new one.

Considering how knives are discussed here, these things may happen easy.

So, no matter if the picture shows a Para or not, would you see this thing as a problem or not and why?

And to @ vinny again: Why do you think this is a point to worry about?

Just to argue academics, why don't you think that's a Paramillitary blade? I think the angle makes it look weird, but after I looked at the pic a couple of times I would have trouble conclusively saying it isn't a Para. The blade is being photographed from about 75-80 degrees off of perpindicular, it looks like, so I think people are confusing the flat top/spine of the blade thinking it's a false edge.

Anyway, I don't know anything about the troll, but I think it looks like a Paramilitary blade, personally.

i'm real sorry vinny......

i just fondled my black mili a little to see if i'd missed anything, and i DID. i feel really stupid and sorry now. sorry for accusing you of trolling and such. :(

my sincere apologies. i think i'm going to take a break now, my judgement is not what it used to be. :(

when i took a look at my mili and looked at it from above, on the spine, i immediately recognized your (very good quality, btw) picture. stupid stupid.....stupid me. again i apologize. insert foot-in-mouth smiley here. :footinmou

and yes, that could be considered a minor 'defect' , but it happens quite often with those pointy spyderco-tips. just give it a few strokes on a stone.

again i apologize for being such an a**. please forgive. :o

I see a spine, a primary grind, and a tip that has a burr. 'Course, you've figured that out by now...

DSC... is the automatic designation given to pictures by certain digital camera programs.

I just bought a Spyderco Delica from E-Bay, with the same problem with the tip. I figured it could be easily fixed and didn't want to go through the hassle of returning it. Lots of good info. on this forum. I have 2 Spyderco knives so far and have my eye on a few more.

i also recently picked up a paramillie from new grahams,
and i did post up when i had a problem with a tiny bit of play
when the knife was locked in the open position.

but i sent it back to spydie and they had it back to me in a month,
tightened up and perfect.

if you've got any problems, i'm sure spydie will take care of you.

Here is another one, and dsc=digital cyber shot. as in a sony camera. The custom is a rename from Windows image resizer on the windows xp power tools.
