Who wants to get their hands on a cheap 52100 PM2? I love this knife, but ever since I got my Gayle Bradley 1, I never carry it. I just don't have room for knives I don't use.
I'm letting it go for cheap because I forced a patina on it, didn't like it, so I sanded it off. Then I polished the blade with some Mothers. This has left the Spyderco logo very subdued and also left the blade slightly hazy. I think it looks cool, but I understand its not a plus for selling. In the right reflection of light you can see microscratches from the sanding. I've done my best to photograph these, but just looking at the knife you cannot see them at all. I want you to know 100% what you are getting though.
When I received the knife there was a good amount of blade play and it was slightly off center. I took the knife apart, polished the washers, and lubed the pivot with some really nice oil. The blade play is 100% gone, and will stay that way since I put blue loctite on the pivot screws. The knife snaps open, with no lock stick, and effortlessly drops closed. The centering is now 95% perfect. To someone not as finnicky as me, it is dead on. I have sharpened the knife and it is now extremely sharp.
This knife has never been abused. It is in *great* shape despite the aesthetics of the blade. One last thing to mention, after I sanded the patina off and polished it, a few vertical lines appeared on the clip side of the blade. See the last picture. I have no idea what these are, but they don't affect anything, and can only be seen in a very specific reflection of light.
$120 PayPal G&S shipped priority in the continental US. If this sells within the next 3 hours it will be shipped today.
If this price is not working for people feel free to PM me and make an offer. I am looking to sell today.
