I'm always of the opinion that these knives shouldn't be adjusted until they break in some. Doing it immediately will pretty much guarantee it has to be done again, and maybe again as it breaks in. I also believe that nobody who is not well acquainted with these knives should be told to adjust them. Spyderco gets a steady stream of mucked up knives back to fix. That isn't a problem until they start stretching facts and bombarding the boards with complaints hoping Spyderco/Sal reads it and straightens it out. At times they resell knives they messed up causing other problems. People who know what they are doing will do what they need to anyways and really aren't a problem anyhow.
Also, as sharp as I keep knives I really don't want it dropping open or closed at any time. I am human and can be clumsy at times so I'll take all the help I can get.
Glad it worked out for you Armen. You seem to be the type that is pretty experienced and not in any way a problem. I just think this forum often defaults to "just adjust the pivot" advice a bit quickly.
