Spyderco Paramilitary 2 -My Impressions-

I mentioned it ;)

Blade just that bit too short for me. If I were king for the day there would be an awful lot more 3.25 inch blade folders in the world. That's my sweet-spot...

Ben

Ah i didn't read your comment before mine. Yeah you're right about the blade size. It is slightly on the short side from being an all around do everything knife. But in terms of edc i think the para3 is very tough to beat. I like to use the para3 with my large grip sheepsfoot. It's a good combo. The grip does all the hard working tasks and the para3 i dedicate to food prep. Cutting fruit that i eat throughout the day.

This is why it's great that we all have so much choice! For me, I've found that 3 inch blade length can work but I prefer just a smidge more - by way of example my Mini Grip is a great knife but it hardly ever makes into my pocket over its bigger cousins...

Either way, I'm glad to hear that the Para 3 works for you. :)

I have a few PM2's and I understand your complaint. The one I used the most (S30V) I got Carbon fiber scales for and they are contoured and it makes a big difference. I wasn't worried about spending the money because I can always put it on one of my other PM2'S. as far as the blade shape I think you would have been better off with a Gayle Bradley 2. The blade shape is similar and the end of the blade is much beefier. The knife was designed for hard work. The only thing you might want to do is have the thumb choil enlarged a bit and it will be much easier to flick open. You can never co wrong with Spydercos. By the way I have found that the DLC coating makes the blade stick too the item you are cutting. I have that one too and I never use it because of that. Have fun with your spydercos
