I went by the Factory Outlet Store today. Looked all the great knives that were there. I will admit that it has been a long time since I have owned a Spyderco. Several years at least. A old Military in At-55 I believe. Nice knife but somehow I just kinda drifted from the brand. Today I was reminded of exactly how nice the Spyderco brand is as a whole. I picked up the discontinued Pelican for a whopping $18. I must say that I was a bit reluctant about the whole Bryd line idea but after looking at several of the models I must say that I am impressed with fit and finish of the knives. The Pelican I got seems like a very sturdy and well built knife. I look forward to seeing how the steel holds up to use and for $18 it was a easy decision to give it a try. Nice people at the store and front desk. Now I just need to figure out a way to drill and tap the steel scales and add some of the handle material that I make to them. Even if I mess it up at $18 bucks a pop (while they last) it will be great practice. Thanks all.
