Spyderco P'Kal vs. Yojimbo tips

Thank you sir!!!! Seems the blade is A LOT thinner then the Yojimbo. So much for day to day tasks? Although I think Joe had no problems stabbing the knife into different materials w/o breaking. What I'd be curious about is if the chipping problem from the Native S30V would happen here as well. I have a Native S30V which chipped...

Maybe we're seeing different things, but while the P'kal looks like it's ground from thinner stock than the Yojimbo, I see more material behind the point on the P'kal due to the steeper angle at the tip, and more blade thickness at the tip as the (secondary?) grind is not nearly so high on the P'kal as it is ground at the Yojimbo's edge.
The hollow-ground Dodo and the P'kal look to be ground from the same thickness stock, fwiw.
I've never broken the tip off any of my Spydercos, nor any of my kitchen knives for that matter, so I guess it all depends on what you were intending to do with your knife?

I've been afraid to use my Yo for anything but slicing, but you can see from the top picture that SOMEONE (ahem the Mrs.) decided to use it for taking paint chips out of the drywall!!!
Besides, I figure that if I really have problems, Spyderco will regrind it or replace it.
Anyhow, if I REALLY need to be prying something in a pinch, a low-grind 1/8" stock folder blade isn't going to do any more than the Yo's blade. Which is why I like to have something more sturdy around.
